Ban Donald Trump Petition

Donald Trump’s recent declamation that Muslims should be banned from entering the USA has provoked a storm of protest around the world.

Boris Johnson had this to say:  “the only reason I wouldn’t go to some parts of New York is the real risk of meeting Donald Trump”.

An online petition to put Donald Trump on the list of those banned from entering the UK  had garnered about 90,000 signatures when I signed it at 11:45 this morning and now (19:00) has more than 280,000 signatories.

The UK has banned entry to many individuals for hate speech. The same principles should apply to everyone who wishes to enter the UK.

If the United Kingdom is to continue applying the ‘unacceptable behaviour’ criteria to those who wish to enter its borders, it must be fairly applied to the rich as well as poor, and the weak as well as powerful.

If you want to sign the petition please click on the following link: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/114003

Parliament considers all petitions that get more than 100,000 signatures for a debate and the government responds to all petitions that get more than 10,000 signatures.

It will be interesting to see how quickly the government reacts and how it reacts.
